Details have emerged of how a Nakuru-based police officer shot dead a barmaid and injured three other people following an argument at a nightclub. Edwin Apungana spoke to the media from his hospital bed.  On Wednesday, December 13, Edwin Apungana, a private security guard at Vegas Club, narrated how a simple argument over a bill regenerated into a shooting incident. Speaking from his hospital bed at the Nakuru Level Five Hospital, Apungana said he was alerted by his colleagues to a client causing a disturbance. “I joined my colleagues in convincing him to respect private business. We told him to pick up his drinks and leave, but he refused,” said Apungana. According to Apungana, he and others were not aware that the officer, identified as Nicholas Musau, was armed during the argument. “He moved several steps backwards, and we thought he was about to leave. Instead, he removed his pistol and shot me twice, once in the stomach and another on the side,” he narrated. The security guard narrated that he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen, and all he could hear were continuous gunshots. “I lost all my strength, and all I knew was that the shooting was going on. I saw him aim the gun at other people before I fell,” he said.
