Football Kenya Federation side Kariobangi Sharks have been handed a major boost with the return of two key players from injury as they prepare for the resumption of the league.
In a statement released on Friday, the club confirmed that Ian Karani and Victor Ngume, who had been sidelined for a considerable part of the first leg, are now back in first-team training and will be available for selection in the upcoming matches of the 2023/24 campaign.
Kariobangi Sharks return
“After lengthy lay-offs for the better half of the season, Ian Karani and Victor Ngume are back to first-team training and available for selection,” announced Kariobangi Sharks.
The return of these players is expected to bolster the squad and provide more options for Coach William Muluya as they seek to improve their performance in the FKF Premier League.
The team has faced challenges in the league, accumulating only 17 points from the opening 16 matches.
Kariobangi Sharks run
Despite an impressive start to the 2023/24 campaign with two draws and two consecutive wins, including a notable victory against KCB Football Club, Kariobangi Sharks experienced a dip in form.
Subsequently, they suffered five defeats and managed only two wins in the following nine matches.
Sharks resume their campaign with a home match against Murang’a Seal.
