Police in Kasarani have launched investigations into the brutal murder of a woman inside an Airbnb located along Thika Road Mall (TRM).
The identity of the woman discovered at the crime scene on the morning of Sunday, January 14, 2024, is still undisclosed.
A detective attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who is part of the team investigating the matter, said that officers were reviewing CCTV footage to understand what transpired.
“As we talk, officers are busy reviewing CCTV footage in order to establish what transpired, the body is still at the crime scene,” said the sleuth, who spoke in confidence as he is not authorised to address the media.
Witnesses say that some body parts of the woman had been chopped and stashed inside a paper bag.
Nairobi County police boss Mr Adamson Bungei said that already investigations into the brutal murder were on, and the suspect will soon be nabbed.
“The investigations are on and the suspect should just surrender themselves to the police. If not let him be assured that we shall eventually arrest him since he can be on the run but will not hide forever,” said Mr Bungei.

The incident took place just hours after the body of a woman was found dumped inside a river within Kasarani Sub-County.
The victim found naked and tightly bound in a sack, had apparent stab wounds on her neck, according to a police report obtained by Nairobi News.
The grim discovery unfolded as officers initially thought the sack contained discarded luggage, only to unveil the horrifying truth of the woman’s remains concealed within.
The river, which courses through Kasarani, Lucky Summer, towards Githurai, served as the clandestine dumping ground for the victim.
“The body was then taken to City Mortuary along Ngong Road awaiting postmortem,” the police report stated.
The incidents took place barely a week after another woman identified as Starlet Wahu was found murdered inside an Airbnb.
The main suspect in the murder of Ms Wahu, identified as Mr John Matara, is currently in police custody as investigations into the death go on.
Already, a number of women have come out and alleged that they suffered in the hands of Mr Matara, who was fond of picking women from dating sites and forcefully taking money from them.
