A bus ferrying passengers to Nairobi has been burned into ashes. The bus was burned into ashed after catching fire near Tsavo National Park. What police said about the fire incident According to Eastern Regional Police Commander Joseph Ole Napeiyan, the bus was ferrying 20 passengers when it burst into flames along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Napeiyan said the passenger service vehicle burst into flames at the Kanga area within Tsavo National Park at 1.00am on Monday, January 22. “It was reported by other motorists at about 1.00 am that there was a vehicle which was on fire along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway at the Kanga area within Tsavo National Park. “Our officers responded and established that motor vehicle registration, a PSV bus was moving from Mombasa direction headed to Nairobi with 20 passengers on board before it got burnt completely after it caught fire from the rear wheel tyre,” Napeiyan said as reported by TV 47. The police boss revealed that all the passengers were safely evacuated from the burning bus, with no injuries recorded. Luckily, all luggage was also salvaged, with all on board being accounted for, and after evacuation, the passengers were transferred to a rescue bus and continued their journey to Nairobi, where they reached safely.
