An arrest warrant has been issued for the wife of slain businessman Henry Katanga’s wife, Molly Katanga. Henry Katanga had expressed fears that his wife was tracking him. This follows a request by the prosecution led by Jonathan Muwaganya to the Nakawa Chief Magistrate Erias Kakooza. According to the prosecution, Molly’s DNA was present on the trigger, while the cartridges picked at the scene matched the firearm used on the tycoon. In his ruling, Kakooza held that the court had mechanisms to handle sick patients, adding that she was free to apply for bail. “As court, we do not understand her medical condition. There is a mechanism of court to handle sick patients and she can apply for bail basing on her medical condition. Therefore, an arrest warrant is hereby issued against the widow Molly Katanga to appear in court. She should be arrested by not later than February 12,” Kakooza ordered, as reported by Monitor. The court heard that Molly and Katanga had dinner together, but late in the night, a loud blast was heard before his body was found in a pool of blood in the bedroom. Why is Molly a person of interest Molly, along with her daughters Patricia Kakwanza and Martha Nkwanzi, are facing charges of murder and destroying evidence, respectively. George Amanyire, a farmhand and Charles Otai, a health worker, are accused of aiding in the alleged murder. The prosecution insists that Katanga was allegedly shot dead by Molly before their daughters tampered with the scene, making it unidentifiable for judicial proceedings. Katanga had reportedly expressed concerns about his safety, claiming he was being tracked by his wife, Molly. As a precaution, the scared businessman changed phone passwords and acquired a new private telephone line. Katanga was the proprietor of Merge Uganda Limited, a procurement and supplies firm, a major supplier of logistic equipment to the Ugandan Ministry of Defense, Office of the Prime Minister, Civil Aviation Authority and the UPDF.
