Rigathi Gachagua Comforts Lady Whose Daughter Disappeared During Embakasi Explosion: “Atapatikana”

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua cut a fatherly figure as he visited survivors of the Embakasi explosion that killed three people and left over 250 injured. Rigathi Gachagua comforts an Embakasi fire survivor.  Rigathi Gachagua on Embakasi fire While doing rounds in the wards at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital and Kenyatta National Hospital, the DP encountered a 20-week pregnant lady under observation with 11% burns.  “Mama, how are you? I’m very sorry for what happened. But aren’t you being taken care of well? Are you getting help okay? Just endure a little bit,” the DP said. During their interactions with the DP, the lady said she was doing okay and had received proper care from the hospital staff. The lady expressed her fears to the DP that she might lose her other child, who disappeared amidst the fracas. Gachagua comforted the lady, telling her she should avoid negative thoughts at the moment and concentrate on getting back to her feet. “He can’t get lost. Don’t say that. The MCA you’ll help her trace them,” the DP asked as he moved to visit the next ward. Subscribe to watch new videos Where are the lost children In his earlier update, Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura revealed the government was aiding 21 missing children and nine single mothers.  Mwaura explained they were housed at the Kenya School of Aviation under the care of the Kenya Red Cross Society. “The government is actively aiding 9 single mothers alongside their 21 children currently seeking shelter at the Kenya School of Aviation,” Mwaura said. Mwaura informed the DP about the children before Gachagua assured the lady that the child might be among those at the institution.
