Siaya: Probe As 61-Year-Old Businessman Dies In His Shop

Police in Gem Wagai in Siaya County have launched investigations into the death of a 61-year-old businessman.

Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the businessman collapsed and died at Akala market on Wednesday evening.

“The businessman, who has been identified as Onyango Okinya, is a resident of Wambusa village. He is said to have collapsed and died in his stall,” Kimaiyo said.

 He added that the matter was reported at Akala police station by Kanyadet Assistant Chief Michael Owindu.

“Officers from Akala police station visited the scene. The body of the businessman had no visible injuries,” police added.

Preliminary investigations show that the deceased has been unwell for the last two months.

Okinya’s body was taken to Bondo Sub County Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
