News

A family is living in anguish after their kin, an employee of the Siaya county government, went mysteriously while on duty. Nicholas Ooro (pictured) was reported missing on Tuesday, February 27.  Nicholas Ooro, aged 37, went missing on Monday, February 26, while working at the county revenue offices Citizen Digital reported that Ooro, an Enforcement Officer, was reported missing when his torn uniform, beret and mobile phone were discovered within the premises.  Ooro’s wife Mary Auma, disclosed that the family learnt about his disappearance when his colleagues visited their home in Rarieda sub-county to inquire about him. “His colleagues came by the house yesterday asking about Nick, but we hadn’t seen him. When I asked why they were looking for him, they played dumb, noting that they had come to pick him up for work. Later my brother called informing me that his body had not been recovered, but his uniform and phone had,” said Auma. Already police have launched investigations to establish how the county enforcement officer disappeared at his workplace. Preliminary investigations indicate another officer, who had arrived to relieve Ooro from his duties on the morning of Tuesday, February 27, found the missing officer’s personal items only.
