Skylanta also recently took to TikTok to bash netizens on dragging his name for breaking up with Kansiime and said everyone in the situation was okay and living their life. Why did Anne Kansiime pay her dowry? However, the award-winning comedienne, in an interview with NRG Radio Uganda admitted she has no regrets paying her dowry.
“Yes, I did. Do I regret it? I do not think I regret nearly anything that has happened to me before. It is because of them that I am here and that is a story we are telling now because it happened. Also, it is pointless, things that have already happened you have no business regretting them because that has no precedent on scenarios where you are,” she said. When asked why she considered paying her dowry, she said her dad got tired of waiting and started pressuring her. “I was tired of my father asking me to remind the man I was with. And then at that point I was really making a lot of money, I had even started a business. I was like I can give daddy this money, so we stopped talking about this. Then I keep telling this guy to pay and he gives it to me and somewhat after paying I stopped pestering and he never brought it up and that was it. But I am not there anymore,” she said.
She however did not confirm if the dowry was for Skylanta or another man and told netizens to not believe everything they hear about her. Anne Kansiime and her husband Skylanta parted ways. Here are some of the comments from social media users: @United King said: “She did not make a loss because that money went to her parents.” @Remak said: “She is not alone, I have seen many pay for their own bride price.” @Muganzi said: “I love Anne’s confidence.” @Elaman said: “I love my money I cannot pay my dowry.” @Robayo said: “Leaving Ojok was a serious joke on her side.” @Marylyn said: “This was so painful to watch and hear, if he wanted to, he would have.” @Lucky said: “I wish I could also get a beautiful woman like Anne.”
