Multi-award-winning photographer, digital content creator and budding events MC Tatiana Karanja aka Mama Olive understands this all too well.
The mother of 3 has been incredible vocal about her life as a single mom giving netizens highlights of this through her social media accounts. She has gained admiration from other single parents who relate.

“Hey mama Olive, I hope you are well…. Mine is a question…did you have the conversation with your kids about you being single…. for me for instance, he is not in their lives, and I don’t know how to have that conversation and tell them that it’s just us now and that he doesn’t want anything to do with his family. How should I tell them especially because they know him, and they care for him,” the Instagram question read.
Responding to this, the famed content creator and brand influencer started by acknowledging that the said subject was never an easy one. Especially since as a parent you truly want to protect your kids physically, and emotionally and you can never be truly sure about what is going on in their minds.
However, with that said it is still an important conversation to have.
“I know this isn’t an easy conversation to have. It’s emotional, and you might be worried about how they’ll take it. But remember, you don’t have to have all the perfect words-just being there for them, listening, and giving them love is enough,” the photographer wrote in part.
Adding, “Mama, I know this conversation isn’t easy, but you are stronger than you think, and your love is more than enough. You don’t have to have all the answers-you just need to be there, to listen, and to remind your little one that they are deeply loved and never alone. You’re doing an amazing job, and your child is lucky to have you. Keep going, one step at a time,”

despite how hurt and frustrated
She noted it is important to let kids be kids and not feel the pressure to pick sides.
Wrapping up she wrote, “Finally thoughts: You don’t have to have all the perfect words, and you don’t have to get it 100% right the first time. What matters most is that your child feels safe, loved, and heard. Just by being present, you’re already doing an amazing job,”
