NTSA issues road safety warning on heavy rains The recent downpour has significantly increased the potential dangers on roads, with the accumulation of dirt, soil, and oil deposits rendering surfaces slippery and prone to accidents. NTSA advised motorists to exercise caution and reduce speed to counteract the adverse effects of these deposits, which can compromise vehicle control and braking efficiency. “Additionally, we have witnessed cases of motorists driving through flash floods, flooded roads, and flood riverbeds. We appeal to motorists to desist the urge while at the same time plead with passengers to take responsibility for their own safety, speak out and stop the driver” said NTSA. NTSA to conduct checks on major highways NTSA reiterated its commitment to enhancing road safety through rigorous enforcement measures.
