Radio presenter Nick Odhiambo’s week has been interesting, to say the least. From getting married at a wedding that caught most by surprise this past weekend, to trending over a malicious WhatsApp text that has since been debunked.
But the formidable Nick has taken it in his stride and shown his resilient and indefatigable attitude in the face of some trolls online.

Childhood
Nick was born into a family with diplomatic ties, experienced a privileged childhood that took him across different countries, including India and Europe. Despite his international travels, Nairobi remained the primary backdrop of his upbringing.
Reflecting on his early years, Nick acknowledges the abundance of privileges he enjoyed, from attending esteemed schools to traveling in luxury cars and dressing impeccably.
Education
Nick attended Kanga High School before transferring to Ruiru High School to complete his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2004. He later pursued higher education at Graffins College and African Virtual University.
Career
Before embarking on his radio career, Nick started as a telemarketer at Kencall, where his initial salary was a modest Sh800, paid in two installments.
His passion for radio was ignited by an older cousin who worked as a presenter at Capital FM.
In October 2006, Nick officially began his radio journey at Classic 105, where he spent over a decade refining his skills in show creation, production, and execution.
His distinctive voice also made him a sought-after talent for voiceover work in advertisements.
In April 2017, Nick made a transition to Radio Maisha, taking over the morning show from Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o.
After four years at Radio Maisha, he joined Hot 96, co-hosting the morning breakfast show with veteran journalist Jeff Koinange.
Personal Life
In January 2019, the father of one daughter faced personal tragedy when he shared the heartbreaking news of losing an unborn son, expressing his profound longing for fatherhood.
Tragically, he experienced another loss in June 2021 when his newborn son passed away just three days after birth, leaving him devastated.
In April 13, 2024, Nick married his partner, Annie Sumbeiywo in a lavish traditional wedding ceremony surrounded by loved ones.
