The family of fallen Kenya Defence Forces boss Francis Ogolla has spoken hours after his tragic death in a helicopter crash on the afternoon of Thursday, April 18. Francis Ogolla’s family spoke hours after the general’s death. Ogolla died on Thursday alongside nine other senior KDF officers after the chopper they were travelling in crashed and burst into flames; only one person survived. Ogolla’s family speaks Speaking to Citizen TV, the family disclosed that the KDF boss had communicated his wishes on the manner in which he should be buried in the event of his death. According to Ogolla’s dad and siblings, Ogolla had said he desired his burial to be held 72 hours after his death. The family said they intend to adhere to this wish. Further, the family disclosed the plans that the CDF had for this weekend. Firstly, the general was set to join his family tomorrow, Saturday, August 20, to celebrate his father’s 100th birthday. On Sunday, April 21, Ogolla was also set to attend another family and church function, but sadly, that will be the day of his burial. This came as condolence messages for the general continued to trickle in after President William Ruto confirmed the military boss’s death. Ogolla’s daughter mourns him in moving post His daughter Lorna Ogolla penned a moving tribute that pulled many to their heartstrings as she described her father as a pursuer of excellence. She said that one day, she would narrate the beautiful stories of how his father taught “with his actions and not with his words”. The young lady shared a throwback photo of his father in the company of the current president of Kenya, William Samoei Ruto.
