With the year coming to an end, many are reflecting on their lives and recapping the highs and lows. Joining the trend, celebrated comedian and digital content creator Flaqo Raz has opened up about the relationship woes he has faced over the years, leading him to dub himself “the King of Dust.”
Sharing his story on social media, the talented actor detailed four of his past relationships, all of which ended in heartbreak, leaving him “paralyzed” and skeptical of love.
“I once posted this: my life is ridiculous (laughing emojis). Money or not… kaa peke yako if it gives you peace of mind… wacha mambo mingi. Also, lacking money as a man can make you go through bs after bs… avoid, stay sane,” began the content creator.
He went on to recount some of the heartbreaking experiences that shaped him and the struggles he endured for love.
“Today had me looking back… I’ve had some really crazy experiences,” Flaqo reminisced.
Starting his list, he wrote: “My first girlfriend dumped me for a Kenyan celebrity in 2016 because I was a struggling artist. She said she cheated because I was struggling and I wasn’t of help to her. The celeb dumped her after two weeks…”
Adding to the betrayal, Flaqo shared: “She told me she cheated with a celebrity out of fantasy and that I will never be a celebrity. Her words never failed to come true. She literally cursed me and said I will never, ever be famous when I was really struggling to get my art out there. Well… so she cheated ‘coz to her I was a ‘loser.’ Damn bro.”
The next blow came when he was financially unstable and still a budding creative.
“This second girl I dated for three and a half years kicked me out of the house ‘coz I had no money and nowhere to go… had to be taken in by my homeboy. She threw my clothes outside. I later found out she had found a guy with some little money,” he shared.
Flaqo explained that what hurt the most was the fact that he had been hustling alongside this girlfriend.
She knew he wasn’t a bum but rather someone striving to improve their circumstances. Yet, at that moment, it didn’t matter to her.
“I remember struggling to sell clothes with her from hostel to hostel… she threw my suitcase outside. I was too embarrassed to leave, so I begged her to let me stay the night ‘coz I didn’t know where to go. She let me stay but said I disgust her and she couldn’t share the same house with me.
So, I slept at her friend’s place but barely slept. I kept pacing up and down the whole night,” he recalled.
Adding further, he said: “I was so embarrassed. Neighbours from the plot were laughing at me, so I woke up at 5 a.m. and left with my clothes in a sack ‘coz the zip tore when my bag got thrown out.”
The third heartbreak came just four months into a new relationship. Flaqo revealed: “This other girl, #3, after four months of dating, I caught her giving head to one of my guy friends in the car. She lied to my face that she was sick and just laying on his lap after swallowing painkillers. I’m laughing crazy as I type this ‘coz WTF! You can’t make this up.”
The fourth relationship, which lasted four years, also ended in heartbreak. Flaqo summed it up, saying: “Well basically, my point is… I am the King of Dust. Nobody comes close.”
As he concluded his emotional recount, Flaqo reflected on the toll it all had on him: “The downside of it all is, you evolve a little too much.”
