Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti has left members of Parliament investigating the Moi Girls School fire tragedy angry after he failed to appear before them for the second time even after being spotted at Parliament.
Mr Kinoti was set to appear before the Education committee over Moi Girls incident and school unrest.
“The DCI should take this committee seriously because we invited him over a serious matter that the public is waiting to hear the truth,” chairman Julius Meli said.
He was seen within the precincts of Parliament and was just waiting to be called into the meeting room when he disappeared.
When the committee was done with their in-house meeting, they called for Mr Kinoti only to be informed by the secretariat that he had left.
RESPONSIBILITY
Nominated MP Wilson Sossion said Mr Kinoti is a public officer who is accountable to the people hence his action is regrettable.
“We are talking about the safety of our children here yet the DCI cannot face us” Mr Sossion said.
The MPs asked Mr Kinoti to step aside if he cannot do his job.
