Infamous quack doctor Mugo wa Wairimu has been transported to the Milimani Law Courts, where he is set to be arraigned over operation of illegal clinics.
The quack was arrested on Tuesday after more than a week on the run following an NTV investigation report on his alleged illegal practices last week.
Flying Squad officers pounced on him in Gachie, ending a cat-and-mouse game that saw detectives search for him from one estate to another in Kiambu and Nairobi counties.
THE HUNT
The officers had searched Kayole, Kiambu, Dagoretti, Tena, Kasarani and Gachie.
Head of Flying Squad Musa Yego said the police arrested him at 7pm and detained him at Pangani Police Station.
Earlier, a detective attached to the SCPU had said all the 12 mobile phones associated with Mr Mugo had been tracked, but none of them was on.
“In one instance, we found the phone signal, followed it and found the gadget, but we could not find him,” the detective said, adding that he suspected the man was being hidden by a relative in Kiambu.
Mr Mugo, who was arrested in 2015 for operating a clinic without a licence and employing unqualified personnel, was again exposed last week by the TV story that showed him running a clinic under the influence of alcohol, allowing unqualified employees to conduct operations and sexually harassing his patients.
