What is hydrocephalus? “I told him ‘I have seen the papers and know you already have a job.’ He insisted on going to the airport with a friend, but I told him I had to go along with them. I wanted him to see the impact that the hydrocephalus condition was having on the baby,” she shared. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydrocephalus is the buildup of fluid in cavities called ventricles deep within the brain. The excess fluid increases the size of the ventricles and puts pressure on the brain. The couple had been given some meds that reduced the swelling, and the child started getting better. They were advised to stop the treatment to see if the condition was hiding any sickness. A month later, the head was swollen once again. “They did an operation, but his head continued to swell and he had to be rushed for another operation where a shunt was inserted into his head. The brain, spine, knees and cognitive abilities had already been damaged,” said Cecelia. Cecilia’s child used to have a lot of health problems because of his condition, and one time when she had taken the baby to hospital, she dropped some money. A doctor picked it up and took it to her. Cecilia admitted that later on, the doctor stole her heart; one thing led to another, and she got pregnant. “I never knew anything about him, and he ran away. I was so stressed, and he asked me to go have the baby removed at Tigoni Hospital but it wasn’t successful,” she said.
