Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has taken to social media to mourn Rex Kanyike Masai. MP Babu Owino mourns Rex Masai shot dead during protest. The vocal politician shared a photo of Masai’s national identification card online. Babu Owino’s heartfelt condolences Babu wondered how ironic it was that the 29-year-old died at the hands of a police officer. “Rest in Peace Rex. This is so heartbreaking to lose a comrade in the hands of a police officer who’s supposed to protect Kenyans,” Babu wrote. Kenyans mourn Rex Masai Masai died on Thursday, June 20, after he was allegedly shot by an unidentified police officer. He was among the many protesters who had taken to the streets to reject the Finance Bill 2024. The young man was reportedly shot at dusk. In response to the tragic news, many Kenyans expressed condolences and called for justice on social media regarding the young man who lost his life while exercising his constitutional right.
