Cop stabbed to death |
Police in Nairobi are investigating an incident in which a police officer allegedly succumbed to stab wounds. The law enforcer’s body was found lying in a pool of blood by the road on the outskirts of the city. It was discovered by two security guards at Ngei Phase II along Kitengela Lane. The deceased has since been identified as Corporal Mark Ayabei, attached to the Lang’ata Police Station. A preliminary probe indicated stab wounds in the chest. Crime Scene and Investigations (CSI) officers attached to Lang’ata rushed to the scene to process and try to determine what transpired.The body was transferred to Umash Funeral Home pending postmortem examination. A police officer is admitted to the theatre at Nairobi West Hospital after a near-fatal accident with a teargas canister. Chief Inspector David Maina, attached to the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU), was facing off with protesters in the Nairobi city centre on Tuesday, June 18, when he blew up his hands with the explosive. The violent emission detached his palms from the wrists at the scene. Police Constable Mildred Amoit, who was near the injured officer, sustained a minor injury on her chest. The law enforcers were facing off with protesters who making their way to parliament to petition lawmakers against adopting the Finance Bill 2024.
