Lugari MP Ayub Savula

Police have arrested Lugari MP Ayub Savula for allegedly contravening Coronavirus social distancing regulations.

Sources tell the Star that the MP was enroute a function to be held by ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi before the arrest.

He decided to stop in Busia to fill his car tank. It is at this point that he was mobbed by a crowd.

“This is where the police came in and arrested him,” the source said.

Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula will meet opinion leaders at the home of Kimilili MP Chris Wamalwa in a bid to forge unity in the Luhya community.

Due to Covid-19, Mudavadi has not left Nairobi for the last 104 days. The Kitale meeting will be his first to be followed by a series of others in Kakamega and Busia this weekend.
