Diamond Platnumz’s manager, Sallam SK, has shed light on the drama surrounding the Tanzanian superstar’s no-show at the Furaha City concert in Nairobi. Willy Paul has been accused of blocking Zuchu at Furaha City Festival.
While rumours circulated that Diamond refused to perform after fans chanted Willy Paul’s name during his appearance on stage, Sallam dismissed the claims, offering a different account. Did Willy Paul provoke Zuchu? Sallam accused Willy Paul of obstructing Diamond’s lover Zuchu from performing, alleging that Paul was trying to manufacture a rivalry with Diamond for publicity. “It’s high time artists focus on their craft instead of faking stories for fame.
Willy argued with Zuchu and blocked her from going on stage, claiming he was there from the beginning and deserved to perform first. However, when it was his turn, he refused to go on stage, demanding to close the show as the headliner. When he saw his colleagues being cheered, he insisted on performing during Zuchu’s slot instead of waiting for Diamond’s,” Sallam alleged.
Addressing Diamond’s absence, Sallam stated that the issue stemmed from disagreements between the organisers and Diamond’s team and was unrelated to any artist. “Why Diamond didn’t perform is a matter between us and the organisers. It has nothing to do with any artist. Bless Up,” Sallam concluded. Was Willy Paul disrespected? Earlier, the Kenyan artiste claimed he was disrespected and mistreated at Furaha City.
Paul headlined the much-hyped event. Other artists included Mejja, Khaligraph Jones, Zuchu, Rayvanny, and Diamond, who didn’t perform. While at the event, he published a post complaining about double standards, claiming that Tanzanian artistes were prioritised while their Kenyan colleagues were disrespected.
What did Furaha City organisers say? Furaha City Festival’s chief organiser, Willis Raburu, issued a statement addressing the uproar surrounding Diamond’s absence from the event. In the statement, the organising team expressed regret over Diamond’s failure to perform.
They disclosed that despite their best efforts to accommodate Diamond and his team, challenges stemming from his team’s conduct and demands proved insurmountable.
