Safaricom Announces Temporary Closure of M-Pesa Services for Maintenance

M-Pesa customers will not be able to access services, following a scheduled system maintenance. Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa speaking at a past event.  Safaricom PLC announced a planned system maintenance on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. In a notice to the public, the telco scheduled the maintenance between Tuesday at 11 pm and Wednesday at 3.30 am. 

 “To enable us to continue to give you the best M-PESA experience, we have scheduled system maintenance on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 11:00 pm to Wednesday, September 11, 3:30 am. “During this maintenance, all M-PESA services will be unavailable,” read the notice in part. However, Safaricom noted that other services, including calls, data and SMS, will remain available. The company assured customers of the least inconveniences caused and apologised for any that would arise during the period. 

“The timing of this maintenance activity has been planned to result in the least of inconvenience to our customers. “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for supporting us to be the country’s leading provider,” the telco added.
