A female factory worker died on the job just one day after her supervisor refused to grant her sick leave to seek medical attention. What was wrong with the factory employee? The woman, identified only as May, worked at an electronics factory in Samut Prakan province, Thailand. According to a report by the Economic Times, May had been diagnosed with a disease that caused inflammation of her intestines.
“This led the factory worker to request a five-day sick leave. However, by the end of her leave, she still felt unwell and asked her boss for two additional days, which he denied. Her friend told The Mirror that May reported to work despite not feeling well because she feared losing her job. She added that the deceased passed out just 20 minutes after reporting to work. The factory where the woman worked issued a statement saying they were investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
“The company has launched a comprehensive investigation to establish the facts surrounding this incident,” the company’s CEO said.
