Makau said should the IEBC commissioners be successfully replaced, then UDA should not only forget the 2027 polls but also any by-election due soon.

“UDA needs to know that if through a kangaroo process — in Parliament or without — it dismisses and replaces the IEBC Four that the 2027 elections, and any by elections, won’t take place. Period,” he Twitted.

The country is due to hold by elections in Elgeyo Marakwet, Kandara and Garissa Township where MPs Kipchumba Murkomen, Alice Wahome and Aden Duale, respectively resigned to take up cabinet posts.

The Azimio wing is locked in a political fight with the President’s Kenya Kwanza over the fate of the four IEBC commissioners under parliamentary probe.

The four Juliana Cherera(vice chairperson), Francis Wanderi, Irene Cherop and Justus Abonyo have been accused of trying t subvert the will of the people.

They disowned the August 9 presidential election results that saw Ruto narrowly beat Azimio boss Raila Odinga.

Petitions have been filed in Parliament seeking the establishments of a tribunal to kick them out from office.    BY THE STAR
