Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has warned President William Ruto that he should not underestimate him
The Azimio leader said the power of the people is mightier than the government’s authority.
“You don’t know us, go and ask Nyayo(late President Moi), you…. the power of the people is the voice of God,” Raila warned.
Raila who spoke to his supporters at the Jakaranda grounds insisted that he won the August 9 polls.
“We defeated Ruto with over 2 million votes and even if we were to go back to the polls, we shall defeat him again,” Raila said.
The supporters roared back with anti-Ruto chants: “Ruto must go!”
The ODM boss also announced his next stops across the country as he aggressively campaigns against Ruto’s administration.
“We have said that we want Kenyans to stand firm, we will traverse the country,” he said.
The Azimio rallies will move to Machakos, Nakuru, Kakamega, Kisii, Kisumu and Mombasa.
Raila will then move to Kiambu, Garissa, Isiolo, Turkana and then climax with a mega rally in Nairobi.
“This is not about me, it is about the the youth, women, children, disabled and the old,” he said.
“Kenyans must be able to go to an election, the ballots must be counted and results announced as per results counted.”
Thousands of Azimio supporters turned up for the Jakaranda rally.
Raila had earlier attended a church service at the Jesus Teaching Ministries alongside top Azimio bigwigs including Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka.
Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, ex-Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina also attended.
“We are taking a public stand against this regime at Jacaranda. Join us by tuning in to follow the pronouncements!” Raila’s ODM party twitted. BY DAILY NATION
