According to Guinness World Records (GWR), the 39-year-old man ran 272.25 metres wearing protective gear set on flames.
Jonathan breaks the previous record of 204.23 metres set by Antony Britton of the United Kingdom (UK).
GWR also revealed that Jonathan broke another record for the fastest full body burn 100-metre sprint without oxygen.
He took 17 seconds for the run which is 7.58 seconds less than the previous record.
Reports by GWR say that Jonathan took three months to prepare for the record-breaking run and is also very passionate about the sport.
“This performance has a lot of meaning for me, for my job as a firefighter and for the people who trained me and watched me grow,” Jonathan said.
Jonathan tells the audience that he has always had a passion for fire since he was a child and enjoys playing with it.
He says he spends part of his free time doing fire shows like fire juggling, fire eating and setting his whole body on fire commonly known as ‘Human Torch’. BY CITIZEN DIGITAL
