Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced the introduction of screen sharing during Whatsapp video calls.
The feature will operate like traditional video conferencing apps, such as Microsoft Meet, Google Meet, Zoom, and Apple’s FaceTime.
Zuckerberg said it will allow one to share their documents, photos, and even shopping cart with contacts available on video calls.
“Screen sharing will be used for “sharing documents for work, browsing photos with family, planning a vacation or shopping online with friends, or just helping grandparents with tech support,” he said.
The feature started rolling out globally on Android, iOS, and Windows Desktop in a phased manner on Tuesday.
To share the screen in a Whatsapp video call, start a WhatsApp video call with a contact, Tap the screen-sharing icon on the bottom navigation bar.
Confirm that you want to start recording or casting with WhatsApp.
To end the screen share, tap on stop sharing.
Alongside screen sharing, WhatsApp also launched video-calling support in Landscape mode.
The mode will offer a wider and more immersive viewing experience over the existing portrait mode.
Support for the Landscape mode may also be useful when using screen sharing on the platform. BY THE STAR
