Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Spouse, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, has highlighted the potential of over 2,300 Technical and Vocational Education Training Institutions (TVETs) to provide a comprehensive solution for thousands who are struggling with alcohol, drug, and substance addictions.
During the launch of ‘Boy Child Mashinani Program’ in Kikuyu Constituency, Pastor Dorcas expressed her conviction that the boy child can experience a remarkable turnaround through skill development for both employment and entrepreneurship.
She further emphasized that many of these Technical and Vocational Education Training Institutions, which have received substantial funding from taxpayers during their establishment, have unfortunately remained vastly underutilized.
“We have facilities of the government lying idle and we are looking for institutions where our young men can go and get skilled,” Pastor Dorcas said.
The Second Lady added; “running car washes is not enough. Our reformed youth can also do online jobs, and also rise to greater heights in career to make an income from all sectors of the economy. I am working very hard to make sure our men are free of addictions and empowered. I know it is a tough job ahead, but I shall keep pushing,” said Pastor Dorcas.
Beyond education, Pastor Dorcas also highlighted the potential for transformation through agriculture and environmental conservation, signaling another avenue for positive change for those seeking to turn their lives around. BY CAPITAL NEWS
