Raila was in Narok to attend a prayer and thanksgiving event, and when he was leaving for Narok town, a police lorry blocked his motorcade. Raila’s car, those of other leaders and chase cars were forced to park on the road as they negotiated with police officers on why the road was barricaded with a lorry. “Police commander on site. Kindly allow us to pass,” the voice from the car said. They called the police officer in charge to explain why the road was blocked, to which he responded that there was a big crusade in town. “Your Excellency, there is a big crusade in town, and if you guys go there, it will be disrupted,” the police boss said. A furious Raila Odinga said there was nothing to negotiate because a highway could not be closed because of an ongoing crusade in Narok town. “No, but we are going home. I am a former prime minister of this country. You cannot block me because there is a crusade in town. You cannot tell me anything. This is a highway,” Raila angrily said. They managed to negotiate and asked the police boss to lead the way and leave them once they passed Narok town.
