Nakuru: 1 Dead, Scores Injured After Multiple Vehicles Collide on Highway

A family is mourning the death of a loved one who was killed in a road accident near the White House area in Nakuru on the evening of Monday, December 16. A police report indicates that the accident was caused by a collision between multiple cars, resulting in one fatality. 

How did the White House accident occur? The accident reportedly involved two Toyota Corollas, a private van, a matatu from 3NS Sacco, two lorries, and two other Toyota Corollas. Nakuru Sub-County Police Commander Mohamed Wako confirmed the incident, stating that a lorry heading toward Nakuru town experienced brake failure, causing it to collide with other vehicles. 

He stated that the accident resulted in one fatality, seven people with serious injuries, and another seven with minor injuries. All the injured were taken to Nakuru Provincial General Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. “Aside from the one passenger that died, seven other passengers were reported injured. 

Seven other passengers sustained minor injuries. They were all rushed to the hospital and are undergoing treatment. The body was moved to the same facility, awaiting identification and post-mortem,” Wako said. Residents gathered at the scene, with some attempting to assist the accident victims before police arrived.
