Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy Eliud Owalo has called upon ICT stakeholders to support the government in addressing challenges in the sector.
Speaking when he officially opened the 14th Annual ICT Management and Leadership Conference of the CSK, Owalo said the government is committed to tackling challenges that may arise from technological advancements in the wake of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The CS noted that the conference will steadily define itself as a significant meeting in the ICT industry.
“This forum is a useful convergence of leadership champions and thinkers in digital technology and innovation,” said Owalo.
The forum which themed ‘leveraging Management and Leadership in Artificial Intelligence’ aims to create a platform for Kenya and Africa in the technology space and embrace the best case scenarios .
“From the evidence available, this conference is steadily defining itself as a significant meeting in the ICT industry. I therefore expect that the conference will produce some exciting and useful fresh ideas for the growth of the ICT sector in our country and beyond, especially on the thematic focus,” Owalo stated.
The CS also launched this year’s annual conference of the County Service Boards in Mombasa.
The meeting will focus on technology and service delivery.
The CS later on today is expected to host her Majesty Queen Maxima of Netherlands who is also the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Advocate for inclusive finance and development
At 3pm, he will officially open the St Paul’s University Interaction Research Conference at their main campus in Limuru.
