The World Trade Organization (WTO) has commended the Kenya government for successfully hosting the Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi last month.
It said the summit galvanized and solidified the continental position on Climate Change ahead of COP28 in the United Arab Emirates later this year.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Gateway Forum 2023 in Brussels, Belgium, WTO Director General, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said that as an organization, they welcome partnerships that will propel the realization of Kenya’s Bottom-up Economic Transformation plan.
The bilateral meeting also centered on opportunities for sustainable exploitation of the Blue Economy, a key resource for wealth creation.
Earlier the DP held talks with Dr. Veerle Vandekeerd of the Global Entrepreneurship Centre on ways to accelerate entrepreneurship in Kenya.
