A woman’s life was saved thanks to the quick action of a Rongai matatu crew whose quick thinking has landed them praise from Kenyans.
The woman named Viola Nekesa said the crew recognized potential signs of something wrong, with the intervention proving crucial in saving her life.
“Hi,I would like to give appreciation to this Rongai Matatu called Audiophile, yesterday I was in town waiting for a bus to Rongai and I was not feeling well, standing outside Naivas this matatu came and I boarded it to Rongai since I Knew I wanted to get home faster and seek treatment”
She began breathing complications and that is when the crew stepped in wIth their timely intervention
“on our way I developed breathing complications which got worse, the crew on board noticed and alerted the driver, the driver diverted the Matatu full of passengers to Nairobi West hospital Emergency wing, they crew even carried me to the bed where treatment begun.”

She took to her Facebook to thank them for this heroic act after boarding their matatu.
“Words can never be enough,one of the crew members stayed with me till the time I was referred to Sinai Hospital Rongai midnight. He said His name is Telvo/Telvin and the driver was Benson Kana. Thank you so much, Audiophile Expresso Sacco for saving my life,am currently doing better at Sinai. God bless you”
Expreso Ltd responded with more information about their crew.
“Yesterday, a life was saved thanks to the quick thinking and compassion of our crew aboard Audiophile, one of our beloved Rongai bound matatus. While en route from town, a passenger began experiencing severe breathing complications. Without hesitation, our crew sprang into action alerting the driver, Mr. Benson Kana popularly known as Bena who immediately diverted the vehicle full of passengers straight to Nairobi West Hospital’s emergency wing.”
The driver and conductors’ names are Telvin and Bena. A Kenyan man added under the comment section that there was also a crew from Rongai Matatu Ambush who helped in the situation.
“”Not only did they ensure she received medical attention quickly, but crew member Telvo/Telvin also stayed by her side through the ordeal until she was safely transferred to Sinai Hospital, Rongai, at midnight.Today, she is recovering well and we are filled with gratitude and pride for the life first attitude shown by our team.To Benson Kana and Telvin, your humanity and professionalism speak volumes about what Expreso Sacco stands for.”
