Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has warned President William Ruto that his actions might alienate him from ODM leader Raila Odinga. Saboti MP Caleb Amisi at a past event. During the commissioning of a modern 12-classroom storey block at Tuwan Primary in Tuwan Ward on Friday, March 28, the MP criticised Ruto’s leadership. The outspoken lawmaker claimed that most legislators were scared of Ruto and couldn’t tell him the truth about the situation in the country. Amisi defended his actions, maintaining that speaking to power did not mean he undermined Ruto’s leadership. The lawmaker warned the head of state that if he continues taking Kenya on the wrong path, then Raila might desert him. “Now, all the MPs have become cowards; whenever they see William Ruto, they lower their tails. Criticising William Ruto does not mean we do not respect him.
If the President goes astray, tell him, “Mr President, you have gone astray.” Right now, we are telling William Ruto that he is leading the government in the wrong direction. And that ‘Baba’ you are with can leave you at any time,” Amisi stated. Amisi calls out Kenya Kwanza over deaths in Haiti The MP further observed that it is appalling to see Kenyan police officers die during the ongoing multinational mission in Haiti. Amisi referenced the recent killing of a Kenyan police officer after an ambush by gangs in Haiti, adding that Kenyans were not being told the truth of what happened.
The MP stated that it’s only fair that the security of Kenyan police officers in Haiti is taken care of as they work to restore order in the Caribbean nation. “Police officers are being killed in Haiti, and we are not being told the truth. A police officer is captured by criminals and executed. We want to tell William Ruto that we cannot condemn our people to foreign nations without ensuring their proper security,” he added.
