The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) has congratulated Commissioner Dr. Jacob Mbijiwe on his appointment by the Public Service Commission as Secretary, Human Resource Service, at the Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development in a press statement to the media.
Before his appointment, Dr. Mbijiwe was the Director, Human Resource Management and Development at the Ministry and also the alternate representative to SRC of the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development.
In assuming this role at the Ministry, Dr. Mbijiwe will manage staff welfare in public service, policy formulation and review, implementation and monitoring of medical insurance schemes, engagement with bilateral and multilateral donors, and capacity building.
Further, he will manage the liaison with other key stakeholders such as the Public Service Commission and SRC on the review of terms and conditions of service.
“Dr. Mbijjiwe takes over this mantle at the Ministry to oversee key aspects of human resource management across various cadres,” read the statement.
With a distinguished career in public service spanning decades, Dr. Mbijiwe brings a wealth of expertise in human resource management, policy development, and institutional reforms. His leadership in the field of human resources is expected to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in public service.
SRC extends its best wishes to Dr. Mbijiwe in his new role and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing excellence in human resources in the public service.
