After a brief hiatus from the digital spotlight, Nollywood actress Annie Idibia has made a triumphant return to social media, offering a heartfelt message to her supporters.
This comeback follows a whirlwind of events surrounding her marriage to veteran musician 2Baba (Innocent Idibia), which played out like a Nollywood script complete with plot twists, suspense, and a touch of melodrama.
In late January 2025, 2Baba took to Instagram to announce their separation, a move that sent shockwaves through their fanbase.
The post was swiftly deleted, with the singer initially attributing it to a hacking incident. However, in a plot twist worthy of a blockbuster, 2Face Idibia later confessed in a video: “Hello my people, nobody hacked my account. Na me talk wetin I want talk, you understand? I come in peace.”

As the public tried to keep up with the Idibias’ real-life soap opera, Annie chose the path of silence, stepping away from the limelight to presumably gather her thoughts, deal with the loss as Innocent was her first love and the father of her 3 kids, or perhaps to binge-watch less dramatic series.
Her absence left fans speculating, with some wondering if she had embarked on a soul-searching journey to a remote island, gone off to seek professional help as in her latest reality TV series she had expressed on different occasions how 2Baba’s infidelity had terribly hurt her and how she had fought to stand by him.
Breaking her digital fast, Annie has finally resurfaced on social media with a message that is both touching and devoid of any cryptic emojis.
Taking to her socials, Annie expressed profound gratitude to her 7.1 million-plus followers for their concern, kind words and unwavering love for her stating, “Thank you for still standing and supporting me and my brand.”
Fans were quick to notice that in her sign off Annie used her maiden name as opposed to her estranged husband’s, which she has been going by for decades.
Interestingly though, she is yet to change her social media handles which still bear Idibia’s surname.
“To my family, to my friends who came through for me, the support system I have now, all my amazing family here and all over the world. God bless you for the outpouring of love. I appreciate every single one of you, and I do not take any of it for granted. May the universe continue to be in your favour. God bless You All. Lots of love. Annie Uwana Macaulay.” her message of gratitude read.

Meanwhile, 2Baba has been doubling between keeping to himself, completely disappearing and courting his new love interest, Natasha, a Nigerian legislator.
He has also been channelling into his art. He recently announced his upcoming performance at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, slated for July 26, 2025.
This event, dubbed the Afrobeats Legends Concert, promises to be a historic moment for Afrobeats in the UK, featuring other notable artists like 9ice Alapomeji and DJ Jimmy Jatt.
