KCB Women’s Volleyball Club has set its sight on recapturing the Africa title during this year’s CAVB Africa Women’s Club Volleyball Championship scheduled April 1st-14th in Abuja Nigeria.
KCB who are the reigning national league champions last won the continental title in 2022 and finished fourth last year in Cairo,Egypt.KCB have won the African title twice with the first one coming in 2006.
Head coach Japhet Munala dream of bagging the title have been reinforced by the return of dependable players Juliana Namutira and Belinda Barasa who were sidelined due to injuries.
The team is currently training at Kasarani Indoor Arena.
Five time winners Kenya Pipeline and Prisons who have also tested the continental glory on five occasions will also feature at the Championship.
24-teams are set to battle for the Africa title including defending champions Zamalek of Egypt.Other clubs that have confirmed their participation include:Nigeria Customs Service,Al Ahly Sporting Club,AS Dounes of Burundi,Maya Kane Voleyball Club of Cameroon,APR of Rwanda and Carthage Volleyball Club from Tunisia among others.
