Makeup artist Carey Priscilla and her husband Benito Muriu have been involved in a road accident while on their journey to South Africa.
The accident left their new Land Cruiser Prado badly damaged, but thankfully, the couple escaped unhurt, though visibly shaken.
The two had been documenting their road trip across Africa, an adventure they had been planning for months.
Taking to social media, the mother of three shared a video of their wrecked car, expressing how terrifying the experience was.
“One of the scariest moments of our lives. We just had a horrible road accident, and we’re still trying to process everything 💔”
Despite the mishap, the couple remained grateful for their safety.

Expensive Road Trip Investment
Carey and Benito had previously disclosed that the trip had cost them over KSh 5 million, addressing critics who claimed they opted for a road trip instead of flying due to financial constraints.
To clear the air, they broke down the cost of modifying their vehicle for the trip, stating:
Sh500,000 – Custom-built sleeping compartment (fits 3.5 people) with a mattress.
Sh200,000 – Bull bar.
Sh50,000 – High-performance lights.
Sh20,000 per pair – Additional mounted lights.
Sh30,000 – High Jack lift system.
Additional features – Roof rack, oil tank, waterproof shade, solar panels, utensils, and furniture.
According to the couple, their vehicle was fully equipped like a bedsitter, allowing them to travel in comfort.
Car Trouble Before the Crash
This was not the first challenge Carey and Benito faced during their adventurous road trip. Just a week before the accident, their car broke down, forcing them to call a mechanic for repairs.
The Land Cruiser Prado, which they purchased in October 2024, had been a major milestone for their family. At the time of its acquisition, they shared their excitement, thanking God for the blessing.
