As a promising journalist with a bright future ahead, his passing has raised more questions than answers.
While authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding his death, his last social media post has sparked discussions about his possible struggles.
On March 5, just days before his passing, Parsayo shared a cryptic message on Facebook, captioning a well-dressed photo of himself with the words:
“Ore teniiti ing’orisho amu keboree irkikuu enkoitoi!” (Translated: “When you are there, always look around because there are thorns on the way.”)
Though it remains unclear whether this was a casual post or a reflection of personal battles, the message has left many wondering if Parsayo was hinting at something deeper.
A Rising Star Gone Too Soon
Parsayo joined KBC in 2021 shortly after completing his studies at the University of Nairobi, where he pursued Journalism and Media Studies, specializing in Broadcast Media.
Known for his dedication and ambition, he was steadily making a name for himself in the industry. His colleagues at KBC described him as a valued member of their editorial team, someone whose presence will be greatly missed.
Veteran journalist Stephen Letoo, who had interacted with Parsayo multiple times, spoke highly of him:
“He was a bold journalist with great potential. We used to meet in Parliament, and he would ask me for guidance. I saw a bright future for him. This is truly heartbreaking.”

Following his mysterious death, media analysts have attempted to interpret his final message. Martin Wanjala, a journalist and analyst, believes that cryptic posts like Parsayo’s could sometimes be a reflection of inner struggles.
“Journalists face immense pressure—from tight deadlines to covering distressing stories. Some struggle in silence, and sometimes their posts might offer subtle hints about their battles,” Wanjala explained.
However, without further details, it remains speculative whether Parsayo’s post was connected to his state of mind before his passing.
Tributes and Ongoing Investigations
Parsayo’s body was discovered at his home in Kinoo, Kikuyu, and was later moved to St. Teresa Hospital Mortuary.
Authorities at Kinoo Police Station have launched an investigation into the cause of his death. As friends, family, and colleagues wait for postmortem results, tributes continue to pour in from across the media industry.
KBC released a heartfelt statement mourning his loss:
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management, and all our staff, we extend our deepest condolences to Fredrick’s family, friends, and all those affected by this tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.”

Parsayo’s passing adds to the growing list of journalists lost in 2025. Earlier this year, Kenya also mourned the deaths of veteran broadcaster Leonard Mambo Mbotela and respected journalist Rasna Warah.
