Zari Hassan has called out her baby daddy, Diamond Platnumz, for having an ego that constantly seeks attention.
Responding to Diamond’s past remarks that he could win her back anytime he wanted, Zari dismissed the claims, stating that actions speak louder than words.
“Diamond has an ego that always wants to be fed. It’s not about what he says—it’s about what I am doing. If he claims he can get me back, can he?” Zari said in an interview with Mungai Eve.
Zari on Her Husband’s Relationship with Diamond
Despite their past, Zari revealed that her husband, Shakib Cham Lutaaya, and Diamond Platnumz have no issues and maintain a cordial relationship.
“My husband understands who Diamond is, and Shakib knows the kind of person he is. We are in a good space—there are no awkward moments,” she stated.
Smooth Co-Parenting with Diamond
Zari also spoke about co-parenting their two children, saying it has been an easy process since they respect each other’s boundaries.
“Co-parenting has been the easiest for me because my baby daddy doesn’t bother me, and I don’t bother him. He only reaches out when it’s about the kids, and if it’s not about them, why should I contact him?” she explained.
Brand Partnerships and Ramadan Observance
When asked about the brands she chooses to work with, Zari made it clear that she is selective, only aligning with those that resonate with her personal brand.
“I want brands that align with who I am—I want something that reflects my identity,” she said.
She also addressed critics questioning her decision to wear full makeup during Ramadan, explaining that her religious practices are personal.
“If I am traveling, I do three of my prayers in the morning. During the day, I handle my work, and in the evening, I complete the remaining two prayers. My lashes and wigs come off when necessary. Also, there is nowhere in the Quran that says just because you are fasting, you should look like a rag,” she stated.
Zari on Her Breakup with Diamond
Zari and Diamond ended their relationship in 2018. During an episode of Young, Famous & African, which premiered on March 18, 2022, Zari admitted she was aware of Diamond’s infidelity but chose to stay silent for the sake of peace.
“Even when I knew you had messed up, I kept silent for the sake of peace—to keep us happy and our family together,” she revealed.
However, she expressed frustration that while she defended Diamond during his controversies, he never did the same for her.
“Baba T, you know I was always here for you. I would deny things for you, I would take a bullet for you. But every time I did that, you did the opposite. Me and the kids were attacked, and I had nowhere to hide,” she lamented.
Ultimately, she decided to walk away from their four-year relationship after obtaining undeniable proof of Diamond’s infidelity.
