The Harambee Stars travelling squad that will face Gambia in a crucial FIFA 2026 World Cup clash has been named.
The match is set to be played Thursday March 20th at Allassane Outara Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.KBC TV is set to broadcast the encounter from 10pm East Africa Time
Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has handed U20 defender Manzur Okwaro his debut call up as well as Ben Stanley Omondi.
Spanish based midfielder Ismael Gonzalez marks his return to the national team after a lengthy absence. Gonzalez turns out La Liga 2 side Merida AD.
The squad is set to depart for Abidjan on Tuesday with midfielders Eric Johana Omondi and Richard Odada as well as defender Daniel Francis Anyembe will join the team in Abidjan.
Coach Benni McCarthy expressed his excitement about leading the team in his first two World Cup qualifiers, stating:
“I’m thrilled to lead my first two World Cup qualifiers. I’m eager to work with the talented squad I’ve selected for the campaign. There’s plenty of hard work and dedication ahead, but we’re ready to embrace the challenge as a team.”

After the Gambia fixture Kenya will host Gabon on March 23rd at Nyayo national Stadium in the next world cup qualifier
After four rounds Kenya is placed fourth in Group F with five points with a win against Seychelles and two draws against Burundi and Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast tops the pool with 10 points while Gabon and Burundi are placed second and third with 9 and 7 points respectively.
