The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced an online auction to sell furniture, laboratory and office equipment.
When will KRA auction take place? In a notice published in the government newspaper MyGov on Tuesday, February 11, the taxman said the auction will be conducted on Wednesday, March 26 from 11:00am to 1:00pm by Philips International Auctioneers. The government’s principal revenue collector asked interested bidders to view the items from Tuesday, March 11 to Tuesday, March 25 from 10:00am to 1:00pm daily. KRA revealed the goods would be sold in Nairobi, North Rift, South Rift, Western and Central regions. “Viewing will be done at the various locations indicated above, or through our website Phillips Auctioneers, and KRA’s website strictly from Tuesday, March 11 to Tuesday, March 25 from 10:00am to 1:00pm,” the notice stated. What are the conditions for sale? Bidders must pay a refundable deposit of KSh 5,000. The sale will be on “as-is-where-is-basis”.
The sale will adhere to the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2015 Section 53 (6), which states that “all procurement and asset disposal planning shall reserve a minimum of 30% of the budgetary allocations for the enterprises owned by women, youth, persons with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups.” List of items to be sold by KRA Nairobi region – KRA warehouse, Likoni Road Yale medium size safe & cash box.
