Are Kenyan celebrities living fake lifestyles? The musician, via her X account, claimed that not enough money is circulating in the entertainment scene in Kenya. Wangechi began her music career in 2013 and has been in the entertainment scene long enough to form an opinion. . She rose to great popularity through her feature on the 2013 Ligi Soo remix, which featured various female rappers. This allowed her to create a name and release various projects afterwards. Wangechi wrote: “90% of Kenyan celebrities fake their lifestyle.
There’s not enough money circulating in the industry for the luxury life you see being posted. Stay woke.” Netizens react to Wangechi’s message Here is what they had to say: @ShankiAustine Wewe ni mtu mfiti. You never fake. Tukiwa pale Geco you were good vibes.” @ondustrtlawyer Meza Iko na glass za wageni ndio umetingisha hivi? @DjSamoa Whoever said money doesn’t like noise was bang on. If you’ve interacted with wealthy people Todd, be surprised. They don’t even like overpaying for the simplest things, but yours, they’ll fine dine and not complain, but not every Fuckn day. They’ll eat well. They’ll go to meetings @hmjumba In Kenya, we misuse the term celebrity. By definition, they should be famous for their achievement in music & entertainment, sports and other fields. They are usually recognized for their wealth too. For us, shady fellows with nothing tangible to show are also celebrities. @zionpearl The upsetting thing is that some people believe the lies to the point of feeling bad about their own lives.
@nicholasoloo You cannot say Khaligraph, Nyashinski or Sauti Sol fake a lifestyle….. Khaligraph recently built a mall. I think it depends. @BenjiNdolo Uki imagine celebs in States earn 60 million Kenya shillings a month. Football players, basketball, baseball, rappers, media analysts weeeeeh noma. @Clemoh_Pr I disagree. There is enough money; our artists just lack the financial knowledge to invest and save. Instead, they overspend and show off. Music does not only make you rich—it creates opportunities to make money.
Unfortunately, many artists lack that understanding and knowledge. @Wajii_1 There’s no problem with faking a lifestyle, shida ni kucon watu to finance it. @owinopaul4 In Kenya if you want to stay rich, invest the money you get while still at the apex of fame otherwise it always fade in no time… otherwise ukitaka kuishi life expensive and you have no foundation to back it. It will come down like an elevator. @BettyGuchu Only to be expected in a society that is in thrall to accumulation by all means possible.
