Peter Muteti’s Dad Pleads for Son’s Release Days after Abduction, Seeks Forgiveness: “Kama Alikosea”

Residents of Maara have taken to the streets to demand answers following the mysterious disappearance of social media influencer Peter Muteti. Peter Muteti has been missing for seven days, sparking concern. The 22-year-old, known for his online content, has been missing for seven days, sparking anger and concern in the country.

Protesters blocked the Meru-Nairobi Highway in Chuka Town, carrying placards and chanting anti-government slogans as they demanded his immediate release. What is Muteti’s family’s message to Ruto Muteti’s family, led by his father, Barnabas Njeru, revealed that their son was abducted by masked men in Uthiru on Saturday, December 21. Despite relentless efforts, they have not been able to establish his whereabouts, leaving them in despair.

Barnabas emotionally recounted the anguish of losing contact with his son, expressing fears about Muteti’s abduction. He alluded that Muteti’s disappearance might be linked to images he allegedly shared of President William Ruto on social media. “Since Saturday 21st, I was shocked to receive the news I got about my son. I heard he had been arrested by unknown people whose identities remain unclear. From that day, I have been deeply worried.

Even as an elderly person, I find myself crying, and my tears flow straight into my stomach,” Barnabas said. He appealed directly to Ruto and government authorities, seeking forgiveness if his son had committed any offence. “I plead with the government and our president that if my son did anything wrong, as his father, I sincerely apologise on his behalf to all Kenyans in general,” he added. Muteti’s mother, Doricate Njeru, echoed her husband’s plea, saying the ordeal had taken a toll on her health and well-being.
