A fiery exchange has erupted between civic educator and presidential aspirant Morara Kebaso and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, with accusations and counter-accusations dominating the heated debate. Morara Kebaso at a past interview (l).Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi at New Church Sanctuary, AIC Kipkorgot.
The feud began after the lawmaker criticised Morara for calling out political activist Kasmuel McOure for allegedly aligning himself with individuals accused of being responsible for the massive deaths during the anti-government protests. Sudi accused Morara of exploiting Kenyan youth, particularly Gen Z, for personal gain under the guise of activism. According to the lawmaker, Morara creates havoc and panic in the country instead of offering constructive criticism and fleeces Kenyans of their hard-earned money through his activism.
“We see through your charade—you are a mouthpiece for your paymaster and a willing pawn in his divisive agenda,” Sudi claimed. How did Morara respond to Sudi? Activist Morara Kebaso hit back at Sudi, defending his activism and rejecting claims of being dishonest. In a fiery statement, Kebaso questioned why critics would be angry when people reject offers from President William Ruto. He went on to assert that his activism is funded transparently by Kenyans, unlike some leaders, whom he accused of failing in their parliamentary duties despite being well paid.
“Yes, I am indeed funded by Kenyans. These same Kenyans pay you a very big salary to do and say nothing in Parliament,” Kebaso said alleging that Sudi has misappropriated public funds and become a multimillionaire through dubious deals. He escalated his verbal exchange with Sudi, issuing a sharp criticism of the legislator’s lifestyle and challenging his political credibility. He dismissed threats directed at him, insisting he would not be intimidated.
“Don’t threaten me, and don’t sell me fear, Oscar. I want to argue with fellow presidential candidates, not MPs,” Morara stated. Kebaso also hinted at Sudi’s future political ambitions, warning him about seeking a party ticket in the next elections. “When I see you seeking a Kapseret ticket under the Inject Party, you will know me,” Kebaso declared, adding that Sudi’s rightful place is behind bars.
