Afrigas is training its vendors to support customers as more Kenyans adopt liquefied petroleum gas as more people shift to clean cooking.
The 2019 survey conducted by the Clean Cooking Association of Kenya shows 58 per cent of Kenyan households still use fuelwood to cook meals with the prevalence higher in rural areas where it stands at 93.2 per cent.
But the situation is changing with more people adopting Lquefied Petrol Gas in a shift to clean cooking energy solutions.
And as Kenya gears toward the ambitious goal of universal access to clean cooking by 2030, Vivo Energy Kenya is revolutionising the adoption of LPG, driving safety and efficient cooking solutions.
Through its Afrigas LPG portfolio, Vivo Energy Kenya is accelerating the transition to cleaner cooking solutions to mitigate the negative impacts of using traditional fuels.
Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director Peter Murungi says the adoption of liquefied petroleum gas as a clean cooking solution is on an upward trajectory.
“We have adopted a raft of safety measures to guarantee a safe kitchen. Afrigas stands at the forefront of LPG safety in Kenya, setting new industry standards for reliable and secure cooking solutions,” Murungi said.
Vivo Energy Kenya has taken a comprehensive approach to safety, ensuring that LPG usage is secure, he added.
Vivo is doing this through rigorous quality control processes for all gas cylinders and equipment, advanced valve and regulator technologies that minimize gas leakage risks and extensive consumer education programmes on LPG handling and safety protocols.
Afrigas is aiming to transform how Kenyan households approach cooking energy to foster affordability and convenience.
“This festive season, Afrigas is also helping Kenyans share the joy of clean cooking with loved ones,” Murungi said.
