Digital content creator, musician and aspiring politician Kevin ‘Bahati’ Kioko has penned a beautiful tribute eulogizing his stepmother who was laid to rest yesterday.
The father of 5 shared moments from the funeral, which he attended with his partner Diana Marua, which included still photos of them as well as a video recap showcasing moments from their arrival at the burial site, an overview of attendees and Bahati standing next to the casket as he gave his speech. They also showed the casket being carried to its final site as well as the mourner’s throwing dirt on it as it was lowered down.
Captioning the video shared on Instagram, Bahati expressed how devastated he was penning, “It’s been a sad day. It is still unbelievable that you are gone,” alongside several broken heart emojis.
He went on to add, “It was a painful goodbye to the woman that my dad loved last. Our mum has gone to be with the Lord. #RIP Mama Benja.
Salimia Baba Bahati, tutaonana baadaye (say hello to Bahati’s dad, we will see each later),”
While reading out his eulogy Bahati recalled the last time he had a conversation with his now departed stepmother, revealing weeks before her demise he had promised the elderly lady he would help her son secure a job in the city.

“I talked to her three weeks ago, promising her I would take Benja to Nairobi and give him a job,” the father of 5 shared while standing beside Mama Benja’s wooden coffin, while Diana who was by his side comforted him.
Bahati shared a carousel of photos showing him emotional and deep in thought as the burial proceedings carried on.
Commenting on her partner’s video Diana Marua revealed that they would be taking in Bahati’s stepbrother now that he was an orphan. The content creator while paying her tribute to Bahati’s late stepmother encouraged the elderly lady to worry not as she crossed into the afterlife as her child would be well taken care of.
“She fought her race, and she finished strong! Benja is now our responsibility, rest now knowing that he is in good hands.
Rest in God’s paradise Mama Benja,” Diana’s post read.
Fans of the couple flocked to the comment section comforting the couple with words of love and strength during this emotionally straining moment as they offered their prayers up for Mama Benja as she rested.
