On December 1, 2007, Bonfire Adventures was officially established during a team-building event in Lukenya.
“#TBT, December 1st, 2007, the day Bonfire Adventures was born from a group of young professionals. We were at a team-building event in Lukenya,” Kabu captioned the post, accompanied by photos of himself and Sarah, both looking youthful and smiling warmly.
The post comes amidst public tension between Kabu and Sarah, who co-founded the company with him.
Their personal and professional differences have played out on social media, with Sarah publicly distancing herself from the Kabu name and rebranding herself as “Sarah Mtalii” (Tourist).
The Birth of Bonfire Adventures
In a recent interview with content creator Mungai Eve, Simon recounted how the company started.
He revealed that their first office was courtesy of his brother and shared the pivotal moment when they were required to open a company bank account to receive payment from a client.
“We landed a job with a certain bank. When it was time to pay, they told us they couldn’t transfer the money via mobile. We had to open an official account, and that’s how the company was created,” Simon explained.
Simon added that his brother provided their first office and that his sister registered the company. He also clarified his professional and personal ties with Sarah, saying, “Sarah is the mother of my kids.”
When asked about allegations of physical assault against Sarah, Simon chose not to comment directly.
“I do not want to say anything about that. I do not want to be misquoted. There are a lot of things happening, and the truth will come out,” he said.
Sarah’s Counterclaims
On her Instagram page, Sarah refuted Simon’s narrative, claiming she is the sole founder of Bonfire Adventures.
“Long live @bonfireadventures. I am the founder and now fully in charge. Christmas bookings ongoing,” she posted.
Sarah also announced her decision to drop the Kabu name, opting instead to go by “Sarah Mtalii.”
Awkward Reunion at Company Event
The estranged couple recently reunited for the first time in a month during Bonfire Adventures’ end-of-year event.
However, their discomfort was apparent as they struggled to cut a cake together, a moment that sparked intense discussions across social media platforms.
The Future of Bonfire Adventures
Despite the personal challenges, Simon reassured customers that the company’s operations remain unaffected.
“I want to assure our customers that the company is here to stay. We are working as usual,” he stated.
