The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) has flagged as fake the reports that former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is in the process of forming a new political party. Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua addressing supporters in a past political rally.
A communique made rounds on social media purportedly from the ORPP, indicating that Gachagua, former Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala, and Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba were in the process of registering a new outfit named Democratic People’s Party (DPP).
In its clarification, the ORPP shared that only three political parties had so far been entered into its directory as new political parties, and DPP is not among them.
