Kenyan songstress Jovial has opined that she would rather her partner borrow her money than friends. Jovial says she would never embarrass her partner over finances. Jovial asked her fans what they would like to know about her during a question-and-answer segment on Instagram. She wrote: “What would you like to know before the year ends?”
A fan asked Jovial about how she handles her finances, especially with a partner. The question read: “How do you handle finances with your partner since you two are not married?” Jovial said that she would never embarrass her partner online due to money issues, saying that she did not like embarrassment. She said that she would rather her partner ask her for money than ask friends to help them out. Jovial wrote: “We are fine, we don’t expose each other!
We don’t like embarrassing situations. We respect each other! What’s his is ours, and what’s mine is also ours. I’d rather my man ask me for help than let his friends know we’re broke. When we meet them, aren’t we equals?” Questions about finances in relationships arose earlier this week when TikToker Alma Mutheu basted her lover Gift for failing to provide.
Alma claimed that she was financing her partner, causing an uproar on social media. Many content creators weighed in on the matter, with some asking her to dump Gift and others criticising her for embarrassing her partner.
